Back in the day, we had a lot fewer options to house our shampoos, razors, bar soap, shower gel, etc. You either had a built-in ledge/shelf in your fiberglass shower unit or you had a rack hanging from your showerhead that you would hope [just this time] that it wouldn’t rust. Orrrrr if you were fancy or remodeled in the ’80s or 90’s - you had corner marble shelves installed.
Nowadays - we have so many amazing options for shower niches. Height, size, tile, stone, metal, options are abundant!
Shower niches can give you a canvas to have a little fun, even if you’re just using a white subway tile everywhere else.
